Restricted environments and incentive compatibility in interdependent values models

چکیده
We study mechanisms that operate in interdependent values environments. show when defined on knit and strict environments, only constant can be ex post incentive compatible. Knitness is also necessary for this result to hold with two alternatives the range. For partially we prove compatibility extends groups, strategy-proofness implies strong group special case of private values. The results extend operating non-strict domains under an additional requirement respectfulness. discuss examples environments where our theorems apply.

Ordinal Bayesian incentive compatibility in restricted domains
We study deterministic voting mechanisms by considering an ordinal notion of Bayesian incentive compatibility (OBIC). If the beliefs of agents are independent and generic, we show that a mechanism is OBIC and satisfies an additional condition called elementary monotonicity if and only if it is a dominant strategy incentive compatible mechanism. Our result works in a large class of preference do...
متن کاملMonotonicity and Incentive Compatibility
Understanding multi-dimensional mechanism design. 1 The Model Let M = {1, . . . , m} be a finite set of agents. Every agent has private information, which can be multi-dimensional. This is called his type. The space from which an agent draws his type is called his type space. Let Ti denote the type space of agent i ∈ M . We assume Ti ⊆ R n for some integer n ≥ 1. Let T m = ×mi=1Ti. Also, denote...
متن کاملLocal incentive compatibility with transfers
We consider locally incentive compatible mechanisms with deterministic allocation rules and transfers with quasilinear utility. We identify a rich class of type spaces, which includes the single peaked type space, where local incentive compatibility does not imply incentive compatibility. Our main result shows that in such type spaces, a mechanism is locally incentive compatible and payment-onl...
متن کاملBargaining with Interdependent Values
A seller and a buyer bargain over the terms of trade for an object. The seller receives a perfect signal determining the value of the object to both players, while the buyer remains uninformed. We analyze the infinite horizon bargaining game in which the buyer makes all the offers. When the static incentive constraints permit first-best efficiency, then under some regularity conditions the outc...
متن کاملIncentive compatibility and systematic software reuse
Systematic software reuse has emerged as a promising route to improved software development productivity and quality. Many large corporations have initiated systematic reuse programs, and many reuse frameworks have been developed to guide organizations in these efforts. Yet, in spite of this, systematic reuse in practice has been difficult to achieve. In this article we argue that a key inhibit...
